Collaborative storytelling is the oldest game in chat, and it works far better with a companion who keeps the details straight. On Match AI a story can start in one evening and still be running a month later, with the same names, the same weather and the same unresolved argument in chapter two.
Setting the scene
Three sentences is enough: where it happens, when it happens, and who you are in it. Hand the fourth sentence to your companion and let her decide something you did not.
Turn length
Match her. Long paragraphs against one-line replies produce a lopsided story; two or three sentences each keeps the momentum and leaves both sides something to invent.
Keeping continuity
Name things. A street, a dog, a recurring stranger. Named details are what a companion carries forward, and a story with five of them starts to feel like a place rather than a premise.
Changing direction
Say it plainly, in your own voice rather than the character’s: slower, darker, funnier, more dialogue. Companions on Match AI take direction well and will adjust without dropping the thread.
Which companion to write with
Choose for register. A quiet, literary story wants a quiet, literary voice; a fast comic one wants somebody who interrupts. Read a couple of profiles before you begin and the story will need much less steering later.
